Hey, I think Harry’s idea is worth some consideration! Dad - How about a Southern route this time? Pete - Do you really need that dissertation now that you have this in your repertoire of accomplishments? And Mom - Can a girl ever really get enough of laundry and meal planning?

Wait just a minute…….. Forget the biking. How about a “Bubs Boat the Americas” tour?!?!

What a rush you all must of had at the end! The big ‘Red’ line is done! Wait a minute . . . . maybe you could just turn around and bike back to the West Coast. Kind of like in that ‘Forrest Gump’ movie. Maybe we could make that line dark blue. Well enough of that. You guys and gal did an amazing trip. One I am sure will go down in your family lore and history. That brew of mine will be ready before you head off for the British Iles . To help celebrate. . . . we will drink to “This Bubs for you!” .

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Congratulations to all THREE of you! It has been great to listen to the year of planning, training, and organizing. It has been great to watch and read about the progress. But it is FANTASTIC to read this latest entry in the BUBSBIKEAMERICA trip log!

To Jean, I can only say you are unbelieveable. Putting up with three men and then two for that long is the stuff that epic novels are made of. I can’t wait to read your memoirs. To Peter, always the embodyment of Winston Churchill’s motto “Never Give Up”, my hat is off to you. You continue to take on one challenge after another and come up with victory! To Dan, my brother and best friend, at 70 you do amaze me. And not only me but everyone else as well. But then, you have always amazed me from the time we were kids and you were always the best athete, to education where you achieved the highest pinnacle, to sailing where you knocked the socks off everyone and took home the hardware from West Lafayette to Indianapolis, to Ephriam, and now to crossing the country on a bicycle in less than two months. Congratulations! Well done! Bravo!! What’s next? Smile. -Bro

I have been admiring your photographs in the gallery section a lot lately. I especially liked the one with Dan in crisp focus and the landscape behind him perfectly blurred. Nice! Happy tailwinds!

wow you guys clipped off a helluva week there…last week at this time you all were waking groggy in gas city indiana…now you’re in maryland?!…you guys must have looked at those hills w/ vengence in mind…hahahaha…a couple of animals you 2 have become on this trip…attacking hills like a mountain lion…10%, 16%, 22%?!…that’s some chain-chuckin’ boys…but you know that…keep goin…you’re almost there…good luck w/ those last couple days into washington and the dip in the atlantic…i’ll see you in the Door!

Just to let you know we continue to follow you in our thoughts and on the web. Good to know you had such a great time in Indiana, as planned. Good to know Ian knew what he wanted most and of course you all were behind him. I think Harry and Alex enjoyed connecting for a day–as, obviously, Zach did. Best wishes for tailwinds and sunshine–as I said at the beginning. Thanks, again, for our time “drafting” on your epic ride.

hey guys…i must say that it was an honor to get to travel a small portion of this trip with you…so to peter and dan…keep turning those pedals over…and jean you are certainly a saint for all the support you offer…even offering goodbye hugs as i’m certain i smelled like the stuff you scrape from the underside of the sewer…keep chugging…will your way through appalachia and cruise in to delaware…you’ve come a long way…keep going!…good luck and good riding…you all amaze me…and jean exaggerates my strength as dan pulled me through the end of that ride on tuesday…thank you guys for a wonderful day out of my washed out summer…ride on……..
